At which issue did you \"join\" Retro Gamer?

At which issue did you \"join\" Retro Gamer?

Thought it might be interesting to see at which issue everyone "joined" Retro Gamer, for a variety of reasons:-

- to see if there is one issue in particular that attracted new readers
- to see if there is a mix of recent "devotees" and "old timers" on the forum
- to see if there is a steady growth of new readers with each issue.
- so people can say "I've been reading it longer than you so I'm better... nerrr!" :D

For me, it was issue 3, after someone mentioned it on www.atari-forum.com. Managed to get issue 2 as a back issue and was a subscriber from issue 4 onwards.

How about everyone else?

I bought Issue 1 the very second it hit my local newsagents shelves & I've been buying it ever since.

I found issue 1 on sale in WHSmiths and have bought every issue since. However, I only subbed-up once the mag had moved over to Imagine, as having to fork out for a years worth of subs in one go was too much for me.

I don't really go into a newsagent and somehow didn't see it until issue 22 turned up in Tesco.

It was a wet windy day in January,my boss had forced me to go and fix a computer in Harlow. As I got out of my car the rain lashed at my face, like a lashy thing from the planet lashy, I walked into the newsagents to pick up 20 B&H, and a pack of gum. That was the day I met and fell in love with Issue 1 of Retro Gamer!

The film of this wonderful Love story will not be coming to a cinema near you anytime soon.

I saw issue 8 in Virgin Megastore in Brighton. I bought it because it looked like something that I might like to read. Subscribed after issue 9 and the rest, as they say, is history.

I'd seen Issue 1 at WH Smiths but always overlooked it as I assumed it was a cheap magazine with no valuable content that only relied on its cover-mount to sell the magazine - I was wrong of course. When Issue 2 came out I was lured in by the photo of William Shatner and somehow found myself buying it. Needless to say I loved every page and have been reading it ever since (and writing since Issue 13, natch).

So - Issue 2.
