Getting Your Collection Insured

Post by James A » Fri Feb 07, 2020 3:14 pm

Currently in the process of buying a house and asked today at the bank about insurance. When speaking to the broker he asked did i have anything unusual to insure and i mentioned my Games collection. Now the broker asked around but couldn't find any specialist companies to insure and im not 100% sure on the value of my collection to try and put it on general house hold insurance.

Anyone got any experience of getting there collection insured?

I've asked specifically about this before. In the UK (I see you are also) games and consoles count as your contents. Unless you have an individual item (or items) that are of really really high value then your collection won't need anything special doing, other than perhaps increasing the total value of contents insured.

if you have high value items (the value depends on insurance company, but generally it's £2500, or more then it'll need to be declared if you want it to be covered.
