Dolphin Bar

Post by thedustyjoypad » Wed Apr 10, 2019 3:30 pm

Ive been experimenting with the Dolphin emulator recently for Gamecube and Wii emulation. Got it looking and playing really nicely, but am thinking about getting a Dolphin Bar for the Wii side of the emulation.

For those who dont know, the Dolphin Bar is the equivalent of the Wii Console Bar that goes by the TV so it can pick up the controllers movements. This one works with the Dolphin emulator.

Reason Im posting this is to find some peoples real experiences of them before I get one next week.

Has anyone here used one? Did you rate it highly?

FYI Im looking at getting the Mayflash one.

Thanks in advance :D

The Wii bar doesn't pick up controller movement.

It's no more than a couple of LEDs, powered from the Wii.

There are battery operated ones with no connection to the Wii.

You can even go retro, and stick a couple of candles over the telly and that will work.

The Wiimote reads the position of the sensor bar, not the other way round.

I'll be ordering one up this week, so I'll let you know what I think of it.

Downloaded a number of games ready to test it out with. Looking forward to things like the House of the Dead games and Mad Dog McCree.

So far so good. Synchronised it all up after a few mins of faffing about. Now it plays perfectly.

Had a quick go on Boom Blox and also House of the Dead 2. All good so far.

Now I just gotta get the kids to bed so I can have a proper blast at it 😎
