Post by dste » Thu Jun 14, 2018 8:39 am

It's fixtures day again already, well for the Premier League at least.

Opening day fixtures

Arsenal v Manchester City
Bournemouth v Cardiff City
Fulham v Crystal Palace
Huddersfield Town v Chelsea
Liverpool v West Ham United
Manchester United v Leicester City
Newcastle United v Tottenham Hotspur
Southampton v Burnley
Watford v Brighton
Wolverhampton Wanderers v Everton

Newcastle v Spurs is the same as opening day last season. :)

It's going to be an interesting start for Spurs because we are playing all of our first set of games away, just in case the new stadium isn't finished.

Championship kicked off last night with a win for Derby over Reading in Lampard's first match in charge.

Yet again I cannot believe that another season has started.

Seems a bit quiet on the transfer front, couple of big ones such as Ronaldo to Juventus and Mahrez to Man City which amazingly have not been dragged out. Transfer window in England closes in five days time as well.

Looking forward to the premiership as long as Utd don’t win it I’ll be happy !

Aguero scored goal numbers 200 and 201 for Man City as they beat Chelsea 2-0 to claim the Community Shield.

City will take some beating as usual but I'm cautiously optimistic that Liverpool can give them a run for their money this season.
Pratty's trade list, updated (October 2018)!

Tickets for it aren't on sale until first week of September (unless you've bought a hospitality package), and that's for season ticket holders such as myself. The inside word is that the new WHL may not be ready until Christmas, and thus the Raiders Seahawks game will indeed be moved. I guess we'll find out in a few weeks time when the tickets are available!

Transfer deadline day today for English clubs to sign players, closes at 5pm.

Clubs can still sell until the closure of other countries windows and can make loan and free agent signings until 31st August.

Title is there for the taking for City. Whilst Liverpool clearly have the edge over them in head to head, they won't have the ability to beat everyone home and away that Man City do. Spurs may struggle - you can't leave it down to Kane every season, and no signings is bizarre - and God alone knows what's going on at Old Trafford; it's almost as if the writing is on the wall for Mourinho.

Why are Man Utd substantial odds on to beat Leicester? Big list of injuries and a few players still recovering from the WC. A few bad results and they could be in freefall.

So Liverpool and City to fight it out, with City finishing double digits in front of everyone apart from maybe Liverpool. I reckon City will finish 20 plus points in front of United and Mourinho gone, maybe even before the end of Sept.

Loving the premiership !!!

Spurs unbeaten (Wheres that anti-Spurs fan now ?!) and Man Utd !! Just funny as anything.

Spent a fortune on that squad and what a terrible start they've had. I'm sure they'll turn it around (Sadly) but i wonder if they'll keep Jose or go for Zidane. I think once you 'lose' the squad then theres no turning back and Mourinho seems to have lost the trust of a lot of players.

Either way makes the premiership very entertaining

And they were rather fortunate imo to beat the Foxes... otherwise could be on zero or one point now instead.

So who's going to finish higher, Man U or Arsenal?

Not going to lie, I do enjoy seeing West Ham sitting rock bottom. Hope it continues to the end of the season.

Interesting seeing Watford win four out of four.

Great result for Liverpool in the Champions League tonight, a late goal to beat PSG whilst Spurs conceded a late goal to lose 2-1 to Inter.

Barca were just Barca.
