Selling my entire collection...maybe...

Post by chapperz » Sat Jan 06, 2018 12:14 pm

Hi all,

This is not a decision I'm taking lightly, but for various reasons (some personal, some not) I am considering putting my entire collection up for sale. I have every issue, right from number 1 to date. I also have all the discs and the infamous "Payback" disc!

I am not going to let them go if it's not worth it...but was wondering what such a prestigious collection would be worth?

Condition - I would say "Very Good" overall. Obviously, they've been read, looked after and stored well. Annoyingly, the Post Office are the worst offenders for any dings that the covers may have.

So a sad day, but I need to make the best of the situation, and am very grateful to my retro gaming chums for their advice. Over to you, folks!

Good luck,I tried to sell issue 1 to 160ish with all cover discs) including the payback DVD and a binder for £150 and had no interest though it was collection only but only had a couple asking to take certain issues which I didn't do as wasn't wanting to be left with the dregs lol

I have every single issue from No1 to the latest inc all cover discs etc etc .
But apart from the original no1 I don't think they are worth much, and also with the reissue of the number one issue I think the value has gone down quite a lot for the original.

£150 seems like a great deal to me! I'd pay that (and postage) if you're still looking to part ways.

Hmm...well, retro chums...I’m up to Issue 184 of a complete collection and still mulling it over. I was looking on eBay this morning and someone sold issues 90-155 for £279.99...wow! So £150 is a bit on the low side based on current values, but thanks for the offer 👍🏻 I think I may chance my arm at £800 as it’s more than double the issues, and all the discs...and see if there are any takers. £279.99 is £4 per issue, so I’m scaling that up to 184 x £4 plus the discs and rarity of the earlier issues. Sad to be doing this, but needs must...

Cant see you getting any takers at £800 whatsoever. Plus i think it'll put people off as you'll just look greedy. Issue 1 years back sold for about £160 alone, doesnt mean every issue will. Look at past sales on ebay, you'll get the odd decent one but £800 you're having a laugh

Why not do the usual, put them on for 99p with a high reserve ? Least if it ends on say 220 quid you have an idea of what the going market rate is.

£800 LOL.

You'd be better off selling them individually at £3 a pop.

I'd pay up to £250 for the lot if yourself (or any lurkers) are so interested in cashing out. £800 is far too rich for my liking though.
