Finally managed to get a switch (thanks to my shiney new credit card) and have been playing around with Mario Odyssey. Liking it so far.

Plus i'll be able to play Yooka-Laylee at last. Limited Run games are releasing a physical version too. Anybody else gonna get this?

awesome! skyskipper to, didnt see that one coming.

having never purchased AAs or Neo-Geo for the switch, do they roll into one package like a compilation or are they separate tiles on the menu? im guessing the latter but would prefer an 'all in one' package.

The NEO GEO titles are all separate titles on the home menu, so its exactly like when buying Virtual Console games on previous Nintendo systems and they're scattered on your menu. People have been begging Nintendo to bring back the folders from the Wii U and 3DS so they can tidy their home menus and have certain titles (Like NEO GEO) all in one place, so that might happen at some point.

Also, if you're a fan of SNK's Pre-NEO GEO days there is a physical collection coming I think in November that has a fair ton of their earliest games.

Hamster are on fire with their Neo Geo releases... I counted the other day there are now 73 Neo Geo games on the eShop, this is just under half of all Neo Geo games (including AES/MVS and CD).

This has to be a record, I don't recall any other system getting this percentage of games.

Well, I don't think SNK ever did any licensed properties, so really its pretty easy for Hamster to port most if not all the library to not just the Switch but XBONE and PS4 as well. Heck, I bet if they asked Capcom nicely they could even get SVC: SNK Vs Capcom released as well.

I pre-ordered Octopath Traveller and Ys VIII today.

Anybody else getting either of these?

I was on the fence about Ys Viii, but I saw it was already being sold for over £100 on Amazon for both the PS4 and Vita versions, so I thought it might be now or never to get the Switch version.

I've got the Vita version of Ys. Not enough to get me to buy the Switch version. I'll get the PS4 version cheap at some point for 60FPS but I can wait. I still need to do Ys 4-7 yet.

Octopath I may well end up getting around release, but Captain Toad and Sonic Mania + come first. Incidentally, Captain Toad has a demo on the store, its really good. Feels very much suited for handheld play, but looks really nice on the big screen...

Meanwhile, I've been playing loads of Bloodstained (the 8bit version). Definitely my favourite release of this last month. It feels like a proper old CV game with fantastic levels, bosses and music to enjoy. Well worth playing if you want a retro platformer - oh and like Shovel Knight they've crafted the game really well so that the difficulty level is much more fair compared to the 8bit games they are based on!

I'm tempted to double-dip on Captain Toad, but I haven't played the Wii U version yet.

The new Smash Gamecube controllers and adapters went up for pre-order on Nintendo's UK store yesterday, unfortunately the controllers were sold out before I could snag one, but the adapters are still available. No sign of either on Amazon yet.

I thought it best to get an official adapter, as you never know if future system updates will stop 3rd party ones from working.

I passed on so many Wii U games, so all these ports have been great for me! Also pleased that Smash Bros basically looks to feature all the content ever included in the series from the beginning. Chuck in a decent single player mode and it'll be one of the best games I've played all year.

Has nobody else picked up no thing?
It's a 3D runner game using plain polys that only lets you turn left or right in 90% increments. By rights it should be absolute trash, but the in game clock now says I've played around three hours and still only beaten 7 of its 10 levels. it's maddeningly addictive, and I'm not a fan of runners usually. Plus the chip tune-style soundtrack is absolutely amazing.

I picked up Lumines Remastered last night, have a fridge full of cold beer, and am planning on a several hour sessions later. Used to be good enough at this that I'd wear the PSP battery down to almost nothing than have to hibernate the thing until I got to a power supply, so having this on switch will be an absolute godsend, possibly one of my favourite games ever.

Been playing Bloodstained, quite a decent title. I have no nostalgia for the NES whatsoever so wasn't sure I'd enjoy this, but it's pretty good - apes the NSES games but leaves some of the aggravating crap they used to pull out.

Also started on Volgarr the Viking, seemed a pretty decent Rastan clone until I realised that progress basically depends on memorising the levels completely - it offers very little room for improvisation.

I still really need to start Zelda though.

So, what's the deal with the Xenoblade 2 DLC?

I was thinking of buying the pass, but is it true that the new Story is getting a seperate physical release, with a code for the rest of the DLC for the main game?

That's what I've read but I was expecting to see it for pre-order.

No, the weird look of the game put me off.

Mario Tennis is glorious fun! Caveat there was a group of us playing winner stays on doubles last weekend. For about 5 hours solid.

I also started Mario vs Rabbids this week. I'm having a lot of fun with it at the moment, I hear the difficulty ramps up but so far so good.

It's such a great system!

My friends code is: 7576-5340-1519 if anyone wants to add me :)
