Android game recommendations

Post by Mr. Tt » Mon Dec 22, 2014 8:07 pm

Hi, I am new here but I found that there is a topic iPhone/iPad/iPod Touch game recommendations but nothing like that for Android. So I think that topic with tips for retro Android games should be created.

1.) Game that we should know, but we don´t know.
Epic Escape: New hardcore game based on 'Mario style' where you can also create and share your own deadly levels with friends. (free)

2.) Game that we know
10000000: Dungeon Crawling RPG Matching Game. (paid)

https://play.google.com/store/apps/deta ... tenmillion

Image

3.) Classic game
Real Retro Games: How should I describe this game. Look at the picture. (free)

4.) Modern game
Where's My Water?: Who doesn´t know this game? (free)

Technically there is but it has a deceptive name. http://www.retrogamer.net/forum/viewtop ... =2&t=21368

Anyway a new topic is cool.

My favorites are:

Jetpack Joyride

I'm inclined to agree, of those above I've not had much satisfaction (though Jet Pack Joyride is quality in short bursts).

It strikes me I'm not gaming much on my tablet these days, partly due to the mass of garbage to wade through and partly because I'm not finding it satisfying.

Too much fluff designed for a couple of minutes play instead of half an hour.

Exiles now installed.

I got a wikipad (android tablet with gaming controls) for christmas, and I'm loving playing all the emulators on it. As for recent Android releases; 80 days, banner saga and game of thrones are all excellent

That tablet any good? I've been eyeing that one up myself but thought the controller add on looked a bit cheap. Always good to get a users opinion though as i'm also tempted to get a Kindle HDX after trying out my son's. So much choice when it comes to tablets its hard to make a decision but physical controls would be nice for gaming.

The tablet itself is tegra 3 so it's a bit old now. It clicks in and out of the controller quite easily and is very stable. The analog stick and buttons are really good - quite similar to the wiiu. I've been playing c64, speccy, atari St, snes, megadrive, and n64 games on it - and they work great. Most of them work straight out of the box, and the others can be configured easily. I got it for £68 from thehut - but they're out of stock now. Ebuyer are doing them for £79 though

Been playing that Animation Throwdown game recently. Quite addictive card game, the fact its familiar characters and theres enough of them to support a lot of cards makes it interesting.

One of the best apps for iOS/Android i think is 'Sidebooks'

You add cbr files to it via Dropbox and its a brilliant comic book reader. The bookcase is great with all the spines showing and it has the page scroll which i like !!

Well worth getting, one of the best apps i've used. Love adding loads of stuff to it

Going by the store reviews, Sidebooks looks a bit flakey when compared to ComicRack, have you tried that one? I found it years ago and stuck with it, but haven't read comics for a while.

I'm pretty late to the party, but Arkanoid Vs Space Invaders is a great investment.

A fiver is a bit steep for an Android game (I know right!) but well worth a punt as there's no freemium garbage, no ads, no DLC, no pay to win or any of that business. Just a straight up fun game that uses the touch screen well & is a nice fusion of 2 stone cold classic games, with some neat Taito cameos thrown in.
