1986-1989. 8-bit exploding into 16-bit.
I guess for me there were 3 epochs (is that the right word? dunno), firstly around 1980 when we got the Apple II holy cow a whole new world, computer games! Then the C64 -> Amiga period, wow.. amazing technological leap. And then when the PC simply became awesome, around, well, quite recently, games are simply incredible.
Yet I remember most fondly the 80's .. the halcyon days. They will never be replaced.. amazing time.
