One Song That Defines SEGA
Hey guys,
My group (http://www.facebook.com/opusscience) has been asked by RadioSEGA to make a couple of tracks to use as theme tunes on their shows. The idea is it will be an original piece of music, but have nods/salutes/key musical phrases from two or three tracks that are unmistakably SEGA tunes.
We have some ideas, but are canvassing opinion from the retro gaming forums for further ideas.
So what are your thoughts? If you had to pick one song from a SEGA game that is truly iconic and sums SEGA up, what song would it be.
Your thoughts and opinions are greatly appreciated.
Cheers.
Thumbs Up

Bloody hard choice this but I just don't think you can look any further than Magical Sound Shower from OutRun.
Other notable mentions include Under Defeat from Galaxy Force II, Green Hill Zone from Sonic, Main Theme from Space Harrier, After Burner and Go Straight from Streets Of Rage 2.

Space Harrier main theme is the one for me, closely followed by the original Outrun tracks and Sonic's Green Hill Zone theme.

Although I love the sonic green hill zone theme so very much it has to be space harrier for me. It sums up everything sega was about. Simple, challenging, fast, fun.

Magical Sound Shower.

Got to agree, Magical Sound Shower it has to be, followed by the Space Harrier theme.

All good suggestions so far. Tough question though, to pick only one.
I'll say the track from the first level of Golden Axe. Thats quite iconic.
