I like the new Transformers movies
I like Godzilla and monster movies
I've long maintained that Robot Jox needs to be remade

This film looks like a good mix to me and should drum up the monster fever towards the Godzilla reboot

I wonder if they had to pay Valve to use the voice of GLaDOS

My lord - and there I was thinking that I was the only person to have seen Robot Jox!! It SOOOOOOO needs to be remade, especially now we have caught up with technology. James Cameron should do it instead of Battle Angel, once he has got blue stuff off his mind.

Was was the other similar film, that had Aliens fighting each other?? Came out just after RJ. Does anybody know?

According to Yahoo :

Update: As several of you have noted in the comments, the AI in the film sounds rather similar to GlaDOS, the terrifying antagonist from the 'Portal' games.

Make that identical, because not only is it the same actress - Ellen McLain — but del Toro also applied the same filter and effects.

Del Toro is such a fan of the games that he called studio Valve to ask if he could borrow McLain for the film. In an interview with The Escapist, he said: I'm a big fan of Valve, 'Portal' and 'Left 4 Dead' have been instrumental family experiences at my house."

Talking of "best trailers of all time" - mine has to be for this film :

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NrvBE3jsCEY

It just looks all kinds of EPIC. The sound effects, the blatant Predator/Terminator rip off. I've never wanted to see a film so bad, just based on a trailer, and I STILL have not seen it. Today, that changes. (CAN YOU GUESS THE FILM BEFORE USING THE LINK?)

What is incredible, is that the trailer for the sequel is hilariously bad. It had me laughing out really loud. Looks like a totally different film, not even remotely related. And it was interesting to see Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa in it.
