Favourite Cartoon Game On The Speccy?

Yup, its that time again!

Just wondered what your favourite Speccy games were that were based on cartoon characters?

It can be any form of cartoon, be it animation, clay models, puppets or even cartoon strips in a comic or newspaper.

Here's my list...

Dangermouse
Postman Pat
Postman Pat 2
Trap Door
Trap Door 2
Andy Capp

Only really played Trapdoor out of that list, i loved the arcade conversions for the Speccy and wasnt a fan of cartoon type games. My mate loved Scooby Doo but i thought that was a pretty poor game, took ages to come out and seemed to be a total rewrite of what was previewed previously.

1. No, we haven't had this thread before. I asked this once, but then all that stuff happened where the forum crashed and a load of posts got wiped

I asked about Text Games and TV Conversion games, but this is a different question Good Sir Clive!

2. Yeah, Scooby Doo! I remember that. It wasn't a great game no, but if was a bit of fun I s'pose!

OK, I take it back. I have gotten off my high horse now and will try and join in.

I loved Scooby Doo, especially the animation when he walked into walls.
Trap Door was cool but I really don't remember many more. Hong Kong Phooey was alright.

The games in the early 90's (i missed them first time as i had moved onto the Amiga) by Hi-Tec Software were sometimes alright like Yogi Bear, they did a fair few though, many of which werent great...

Road Runner
Scooby and Scrappy Doo (not a bad platform game)
Top Cat

The US Gold version of Road runner was terrible, remember buying that and being gutted when i played it at home

Yep that Scooby Doo was very playable.

I must put forward Trapdoor - not neccisarly a cartoon but an animated kids programme - does that count?

Anything that is 'animated' is classed as a cartoon

And yes trapdoor is a very good game on the speccy. There were quite a few good speccy games based on cartoons, though some were dire. Really hated the Inspector Gadget one - got bored of that one very quickly!

If I was to vote for a fave tho, it would have to be Thundercats! Simple, but good fun with nice graphics

Popeye was a good game. Not exactly a massive adventure but the graphics were so good I nearly passed out!*
