Good arcade locations
Does anyone know of any good locations in the UK that still have a decent range of classic arcade machines? Anything like a pub/museum etc would be perfect.
Re: Good arcade locations
I've been to this place the last two weeks....
http://arcade-club.com/ just outside of Manchester
Its superb, has about 15-20 arcade machines with about 8 pinball machines. Been 'officially' open 2 weeks now, been really good

Last I heard Kent Amusements in Newcastle, Co. Down was still going strong.
One of my favourite haunts back in the day. I've spent many a quid on Operation Wolf, Stun Runner & Adams Family Pinball among many many otheres in there over the years;

Re: Good arcade locations
We have 12 arcade cabs, at our museum, including Centipede, Space Invaders, Alien Syndrome, and Xevious, but sadly only four work, which is why we are hosting this event at the end of this week.

So hopefully by the end, we will have at least a couple more up and running, Xevious, Tempest, and our table top Asteroids were all working by the end, although the latter two decided they wanted more attention and went pop.

Around May time next year. Its something to do with this 'Gamecity' event they have every October, which is a bit underwhelming as far as I have been able to make out.RetroBob wrote:Did I read there is a museum opening in Nottingham?

This place is well worth a visit. I went to the retro games night there s few months back and had a blast, can't believe how popular it was and quite a young audience too, I am 34 and was one of the older ones! I won a BBC Micro on the raffle as well, chuffed with thatadippm82 wrote:We have 12 arcade cabs, at our museum, including Centipede, Space Invaders, Alien Syndrome, and Xevious, but sadly only four work, which is why we are hosting this event at the end of this week.

I'll have a word with the director, we have people coming from far and wide, this aims to be an ongoing project, so if these guys are not already involved, we would certainly welcome more help.DPrinny wrote:Have you gotten into contact with Retro games party? Thanks for the kind words, we have worked hard to make these events as fun as possible, and have another one planned for 12th December, would be good to see you there again, and of course anyone else who fancies a night of Retro action, already got a very nice raffle prize lined up, perhaps you will be lucky again, you looked very happy with your Beeb!RetroBob wrote:This place is well worth a visit. Re: Good arcade locations
Would love to get to the Arcade club. Loved seeing all the machines lined up at Retro Revival and Play Manchester, was a tad overwhelming emotionally if I am honest.
