The weird thing is that i've never heard a bad word said about Jet Force Gemini. It got top marks in the mags of the day and is always mentioned when talk is of RARE's N.64 cannon. Maybe if they'd made a sequal on a later consoles it would not be in this list but in my opinion it is a game that got the attention it deserved... IE lots of it and all positive. :D

Carnage Heart on the Playstation. Utterly brilliant game where you program your own battle robots. Got unenthusiastic, off-putting reviews and so the even better sequels never got an English translation.

Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath. Again, unenthusiastic reviews that made you wonder if anyone had actually played it through to the significant parts of the story. Although the first half of the game is, admittedly, fairly average compared to what comes later.

Rorke's Drift on Amiga, it's a great strategy game, if a little buggy, tasking you with fending off the Zulu hordes.
I don't remember how it reviewed but no-one ever mentions it when talking about classic Amiga games.

Blast Corps on N64 - one of the launch titles I believe from Rare. I need to find a copy of it on eBay now that I think about it!
LFGdating | Goldeneye, Red Alert and KOTOR are probably my Top 3 of all-time.

Totally forgot about Overboard! On ps1. It was a brilliant little gem of a game that. Also Rapid Racer was another that had alot going for it but the handling of the crafts were at times a challenge.

4 Wheel Thunder & Hydro Thunder were great on the DC.

The Gregory Horror Show is a rare gem on PS2.
The square is a great shape, and one that is criminally underused in modern game design. In the push to ever more granular, chaotic environments, games have lost sight of the simple pleasures of right angles and straight lines.

The Game of Dragons was one me and my mate played for ages on the Amstrad back in the day- came as part of his 12 game Amsoft bundle. Lots of fun, no-one else I've ever spoken to has ever played it. And now I have the music stuck in my head...

Championship Manager always hogged the headlines, but Tactical Manager on the Amiga had a lot of little touches- club badges, news feed, built in editor- years before Sports Interactive did, and was a lot of fun to play. But no-ones ever heard of it.

Extreme G on the N64, people who actually remember it just dismiss it as a Wipeout rip off, but it was pretty different, more focused on combat than racing and one of my favourite games on the system.

Anachronox - I'm amazed at how few people know about about this gem. It has an old man character who can kill enemies by telling long anecdotes, for crying out loud! The combat is a bit rubbish, but a patch fixes that - and the humour is spot on. One of the funniest games ever, and an all round brilliant RPG.

Silver - Granted the story is a little corny, but the gameplay is great, and the soundtrack is also very effective. It's a fun action RPG, and I'll always love it.
Both awesome games and at around the same time there was another similer gem released...

Beetle Adventure Racing (N64)

An amazing game. Happy to see it mentioned in Retro Game a while back.

also early Sonic 3D games - people alway moan about them but Heroes is probally my favorite Sonic game.

Also, the 3rd one on GameCube, really smooth and fast, great game. Sequel not so much so though.

Cannot remember the reception the game got originally but it never seems to get a mention. Project overkill for the PS1. Love that game to bits, wish konami would reboot it.
