Should be worth going. I went to the Ghostbusters one before Christmas and it was excellent.

Re: Secret Cinema BTTF
Looks like a fun evening, but watching the Blade Runner one their claims to 'recreate' the environments are somewhat exaggerated. Passable low budget stuff akin to the Halloween Horror nights at Universal Studios, easily knocked up sets that are a little shonky but give just enough atmosphere to be effective. Surprising they don't tour with it tbh since it looks like all they need is a reasonable sized space to set up on.

Well, you got the 'old' bit right I suppose. I just expected more for the money is all.

Be interesting to see how they recreate hill valley. Both 55 and 85 versions.

I was very intrigued by this, but ultimately, like Antiriad says, decided it's probably not worth the money. Over £100 to see BTTF with the wife? I know you're paying out for the surroundings and atmosphere, but personally I'm more than happy watching my favourite film on my big screen TV in the comfort of my own home these days

I was quite excited by this, my daughter has got into the trilogy a lot, we must have watched the box set a couple of times last week, but at £50+ for an adult and £25+ for a kid, it was going to be an expensive time out for the family. I am not entirely too sure what they do at these things, do they recreate the set or something?
WANTED: ANY SNES or GAMEBOY GAMES, OR EMPTY BOXES, INSTRUCTION MANUALS or WHITE INNER TRAYS, going for FULL SETS of both.
Re: Secret Cinema BTTF
not been to one before but they say they are recreating Hill Valley '55 and '85. Also something for the future (the mind boggling year of 2015!)
It IS expensive.. but it is once in a lifetime stuff I think

Re: Secret Cinema BTTF
If you read the article, there's a video of the Blade Runner one in there. They don't so much recreate the set, as try to emulate what it might be like to be there. For Blade Runner, it's grimy corridors and stuff, people in odd clothes, an attempt to get the chinatown/future city thing. But on a shoestring. Don't expect it to look like the movie, think of it more as a side street on that world. Check the video to see what I mean. There's some theatrics and stuff involved too, so its not just set building.bensonrad wrote:I am not entirely too sure what they do at these things, do they recreate the set or something?

Re: Secret Cinema BTTF
I just read the first 3 shows were cancelled, obviously to much disappointment and anger. Shame.
Edit: And cancelled the weekend shows too.

^^Yeah, I've been reading about this and have read some comments on the Facebook page.
Pretty bad as they told people not to bring phones and then e-mailed everyone two hours before the show was due to start. Fantastic when people have traveled from further afield. There are also pictures of an unfinished set and the organisers are blaming the Council by the looks of it.
