Right now I'd go for Tetris on a Gameboy.

One of those questions which, on any given day, would probably have a different gut reaction answer, but if I was honest, the answer would always be Micro Machines 2 on the Mega Drive.
There's never been anything released on any platform, which I've found more enjoyable in the long run - and I still play MM2 every few months.

Has to be Pirates! on the C64. I've got loads of happy memories of playing it with a friend of mine. I tried playing it on WinVICE some time ago and it still had that something - for some reason I really did not like the reboot released a few years ago.

Streets of Rage 2.

As a game it was perfect. The graphics, sound, level design, learning curve... everything just fitted together just right.

The last of us. It's the best game I've ever played.

As much as I want to say Chaos or Midnight Resistance I really think ultimately and predictably Id have to say Streets of Rage 2. A game that I fall into pretty much every time the MD goes on and one that even now after 20+ years I can still play and thoroughly enjoy.

Still think back to Gamesmaster Live and seeing footage of Axel fighting in the alley behind the bar , in the rain - Barbon shedding his top ready for the battle and the first cry of Axel hitting him with a Grand Upper. Thats when my young self realised I had totally made the right choice buying my Megadrive.

Tetris. Whenever I buy a new console, electronic device, computer, etc., first thing I do is look to see if Tetris is available for it.

Doom 2 on the PC. Except no substitute. The Daddy of FPS and still brilliant to play.

Even with the love I have for retro gaming from all ages I have to say:
The Last of Us (PS3)

I still think of TLoU every day. The story just really clicked with me for some reason. My first playthrough is something I'll always remember.

honorable mentions:
Castlevania: Symphony of the Night (PS1) - used to be my favorite
Transport Tycoon Deluxe (PC) - probably the game I played the most. literally thousands of hours have been lost (countingOpenTTD hours aswell)

I'm going to confuse every single person who's never read Amstrad Action and say "Logistic" on the old CPC. A highly enjoyable puzzle game that could on occasion have very random chain reactions.
Where logic won't work, I will

Final Fantasy VII for me too. Such a difficult choice though, there are two or three games battling over that top spot in my head.
