^ yea its nice when a brewer can do that, get a lot of flavour and quality with a low percentage. sign of a great brewer imo.

She is the head brewer at Town Mill Brewery in Lyme Regis (Dorset) - but decided to set her own up. Her 1st ale and I sold out of it in 18 hours!

hah! good stuff!

Re: Real Ale Drinkers or Lagerboys?
If you want ales under 5% that are packed with flavour then I suggest tracking down some by Oakham Ales.
Only problem is that its not all that easy tracking them down in the Hull area

Oakham Ales!!!!!! What a stunning brewery
I've had 4 of their ales before at the club - on one of my Beer festivals. Scarlet Macaw got beer of the festival. Then there were the 2 vintage 'Green Devil' and 'Dreamcatcher'. Both were strong, very very expensive and exceedingly AWESOME!
Can't say I've ever seen their bottled ales though.

Those are 3 Oakham's I've never tried nor seen where I live.
Bottle wise I've had JHB, Citra, Inferno, Hawse Buckler & Bishops Farewell all of them absolutely superb. In terms of consistency Oakham are up there as one of my favourite breweries.

you can get citra from online shops selling real ale. i've bought boxes of mixed bottled beer from places like this and this before and one of them came with a bottle of that. I thought that citra was a great summery style drink. apparently some waitrose stores stock it too;

its definitely worth trying, a great beer.

Citra & JHB are just about the only Oakham's you can find regularly here in Hull. I have seen a few others of theirs as a one off at B&M last year which obviously I stocked up on at the time
As a side note it's worth popping into M&S as they have their own range of bottled ales which are relabelled versions of popular ales from various breweries including an Oakham Citra & a favourite of mine Batemans Mocha.
With it being M&S though you should be prepared to pay a bit extra as they are around £2.29-£2.59 per bottle or 6 for 5 which still makes them pricier than most. Still it's worth it now and again for a treat and to sample some you may not see all that often.

No probs mate. I get a couple of guys from working clubs coming in for double maxim and brown ale as they say it's cheaper to get from us than the brewery which is rather sad. Now I just order extra for them so regular folk can get their share. People can get grumpy when they cant get the four they wantmarkopoloman wrote:Aaaargh! At the weekend I went to a bar called The Inferno in Bournemouth. They brew ale upstairs and so tried a few Dorset Screamers 4.4% and Wynter Ales %5. Lovely stuff but my god they gave me a headache the next day
Also did the 4 for £5 at Asda and acquired a few bottles of Banana Bread Beer (lovely stuff), Bombardier Reserve & Black Sheep Riggwelter. All seens below along with the Russian Stout Marko kindly pointed out

Never been to the Inferno before! May have to visit very soon. I LOVE Riggwelter - don't know if they still do it, but Harry Ramsdens on Bournemouth sea front had that to go with fish & chips
