I've always liked Crackpots! Even those annoying green spider bits that eventually finish me off!

How could I have missed that one.
Frostbite is pure quality. When you get to the later levels (100k+) you can leap literally half way across the screen. It's that fast that it becomes hypnotic.

Wow, how'd I miss this thread for so long.
LOVE the Activision games on the 2600 & I'm really looking forward to the article.
I love River Raid & HERO, but there's a special place in my heart for KABOOM! I love how fast & furious it gets & the paddle is so responsive you feel like a Jedi master on later levels.

Enduro Racer for the ZX Spectrum. Bags of playability + large sprites that moved with speed = one of the few conversions that got it right.

And let us all laugh at the C64 version!

spider fighter 2600 - brilliant, fast shoot em up
Re: From the forum issue 124 - Favourite Activision game
It has to be Pitfall, a 2600 remnant that I remember still plaing on my 800XL, and it stood head-and-shoulders above a lot of the newer games...

I'm going to go for Pastfinder (though Hacker and H.E.R.O came close).Did'nt look like anything special and controls took a while to get used to, but once mastered it became clear that practice paid off.One of the most rewarding games of it's time, yet sadly also the most ignored.

On the 2600 it has to be Pitfall 1,2 and Enduro, Enduro is a superb little racer!
