Been offered a PS3 for my 360. Should I?
I have a 360 with 51 games, 1 controller and HDMI.
Been offered a model 1 PS3 80gb and an unspecified amount of games.
Is there any point? The trade would be easy as the guy lives in my town, but I don't know much about the PS3 machine. Tbh, my Saturn is my most-used machine.
What would you do?

Will you use it more than the 360?

Hmm... really depends on the games. Is your 360 boxed, is the PS3 boxed, are their games in good condition, are they crappy sports games.

No way. 360 is awesome, PS3 is a (albeit it an awesome one) media player.
I have both and the 360 can also be a media player if required (such as getting around Sony Cinvidea or whatever its called apparently).
Only reason for the PS3? if you want a blu ray player and don't want to play games

@MPM - I probably would use it as for as long as the novelty lasted, tbh.
@RetroBob - Mine is boxed and in good nick with a varied mixture of games, I don't know about his.
(I'm kind of answering my own question as a type this ::) )

Model 1 PS3 could well be at end of its useful life. I'd be inclined to keep the 360 and pick up a cheap later model PS3 after Christmas.

Definitely agree with this. Those big old George Foreman grill models of PS3 die a lot easier than later revisions. Also, you know everything about what you have to offer but the PS3 contents are a bit vague.Antiriad2097 wrote:Model 1 PS3 could well be at end of its useful life. Retro is a state of mind, and cares not for your puny concepts like dates and calendars.
Re: Been offered a PS3 for my 360. Should I?
Totally. Gonna keep my 360 and save for the inevitable PS4 price fall in the new year

PS4?
Wait till everyone else is dumping PS3s post christmas, there'll be a flood of systems and games so you'll have plenty to play whenprices crash. There's like what, 6 games for PS4 at OTT prices.

Believe it or not, I saw a 360 AND a PS3 in a charity shop yesterday
Seems the 'casual' gamers are just dumping them en masse for current stuff. They don't see consoles like we do with shelf life left. They simply want the new Killzone PS4 or Dead Boring 3 for wee Jimmy. Madness. I thought folk used food banks? Really?
