So has anyone else tried the Wonderful 101 demo that was released yesterday? I loved it, there is way more depth to the combat than I expected and its pretty challenging from the get go. Cracking game, I now really can't wait to get the game later this month.

The Wonderful 101 review embargo was lifted late last night. C&VG have rounded up some of the early scores:

http://www.computerandvideogames.com/42 ... -round-up/

The demo has actually put me off a little bit, to the extent that I'm not wanting to spend £33 on it. ShopTo vouchers are bringing it down to about £17, which helps. Still, history dictates that I won't tolerate a game for long if I've got a constant battle with the controls though, no matter how good it seems to be beneath (Kid Icarus Uprising, I'm looking at you). The reviews are in agreement that the controls are a fairly major issue. Appears to be a good game nonetheless.

So Wonderful 101 arrived today and had an hour into it. Pretty good so far, though it's taking me awhile getting used to the controls.

I've no issue with the controls in wonderful 101, maybe because I got used to them in the demo but I can use them pretty effectively to do some pretty sweet combos with no problem. It's the camera that is proving to be annoying for me in places - not being able to see what certain enemies are doing/going to do leads to me taki damage unnecessarily in places. Still, I'm loving this game the more I play it and so e of the levels are bloody awesome and I really like the way the powerups work. That and the combat system is surprisingly deep. It's not as good as bayonetta in my opinion but it's still one of the most fun and frantic action games I've played in a while.

Announcing a price drop a month in advance like that will just stop people buying a Wii U for the next few weeks, won't it? :?

Hopefully though, the price drop plus a now much better selection of software (with new Mario/Mario Kart/Donkey Kong/Smash Bros. coming soon) will get more people on board.

Seems to be exclusive to GAME, unfortunately :( I've bregrudgingly preordered one from them but they're not a retailer I like having to deal much with these days.

Probably hoping they'll shift a lot in the run up to Xmas, tempting kids with Mario, Link and Lego over from those other 2 consoles.

Mighty Switch Force 2 confirmed for a Wii U release, aimed for October.

Done the same, the Collectors edition looks great. It's Zelda, so it was a guaranteed buy for me.

I tried the W101 demo and didn't really like it at all so that's off my to buy list, Rayman Legends on the other hand is amazing! just finished the first couple of worlds, cant wait to sink some more time into it :D

I've got that zelda collectors edition pre ordered along with donkey kong & Mario world, sonic lost worlds is another one to add to that list once that version with the Nights DLC is up for order, has anyone seen it listed yet?

Yeah...I've not taken to The Wonderful 101 as much as I hoped. Seems weird and difficult to me, and not in a good way either. The tutorials aren't much help (not good considering the game comes with no manual), I'm not liking using the right analogue stick to create attack formations at all, the camera angles on certain sections aren't brilliant and it's a pain having to swap stuff between the main TV screen and Gamepad during sections when you go inside buildings. I'm going to stick with it and give myself a proper chance to get used to it but I can imagine the demo put plenty of people off.

Even though I'd have still given it a go on another format, I don't think it would have sold all that well on Xbox 360 or PS3 either.

There's a version that comes with the Nights DLC? I thought it was going to be available to everyone, didn't think you had to buy a specific version of the game to get it. :?
