HUMBLE THQ BUNDLE
This one is pretty insane....
Darksiders, Red Faction: Armageddon, Metro 2033, Company of Heroes, Company of Heroes: Opposing Fronts, and Company of Heroes: Tales of Valor
if you pay above the average you get
Saints Row: The Third

Re: HUMBLE THQ BUNDLE
Well, I suppose it's a breakthrough of sorts in that they've got a major publisher on board with some big name games. However, they've had to compromise a lot of the things I liked about previous bundles such as the multi-platform support (no Mac, Android or Linux here) and that the downloads aren't DRM free, although at least it's just Steam.
Ah well, you only have to pay what you think it's worth and you can give the lot to charity too so it's not all bad.
Edit: It looks like I'm not the only one who feels a little put out by this.

Another bloody bundle that I have a load of the titles already....should be generous and get it just for the ones I am missing, but it doesn't feel the same.

Only in the world of the Internet and video games would there be an uproar about games being sold extremely cheap.
Madness!
Paying the minimum for SR3 alone is a billy bargain!

these bundles dont appeal to me, I can see why they are excellent value to some people but for me its just too many games in one go. they wouldn't get played, not properly, there is so much that I want to play that buying a bundle of games would just be pointless.

Re: HUMBLE THQ BUNDLE
Well, if it was just a Steam fire sale for THQ, I doubt anyone would be complaining. Rather, it's the involvement of the Humble Bundle that's being seen as a sell-out. Having spoken out for DRM-free, multi-platform indie games in the past it's a bit of a shock to the system to see them promoting something that's none of those.Joey wrote:Only in the world of the Internet and video games would there be an uproar about games being sold extremely cheap.

Anyway, I've struck what I think's a suitable compromise in buying it but donating all the money to charity. Any money that THQ get out of this will likely be in the hands of a liquidator six months down the line anyway.

Re: HUMBLE THQ BUNDLE
Bought this last night too. It really is a crazy deal; at the present average you need to pay just £3.57 for all of the games plus SR3 -which is presently £29.99 on Steam.
My only complaint is that my backlog after the Steam sale is already bad enough, once I've finished Max Payne 3 and Torchlight 1&2, I might get a chance to play them.
Too much of a good thing!

I bought it cos it was £3/4. Worth it for Darksiders alone.

Re: HUMBLE THQ BUNDLE
I bought it the SECOND I got the email!
I already have the Company of Heroes trilogy, but I still got it anyway. I even have the X360 version of SR3, but for the silly money they were asking I got it again! I might investigate the PC SR3 modding scene a bit with it.

FFS! It's mega cheap(if you want it to be) all the money can go to Charity (if you want), and if you only play one of them through then you more than got your moneys worth and there's some cracking games there. Hell I paid over the minimum and got Saints Row 3 again even though I bought it in the Steam sale last week.
