Re: Retro City Rampage
If you buy it from VBlanks's website you get a DRM free version and a choice of Steam or GoG key.
But yes finally we get to play it this month!

Re: Retro City Rampage
Wait, it comes out in four days? You think there'd be a bit more of a fanfare, but I guess that what happens when you have game that takes this long to come out. I honestly always liked the way this looks. I honestly think it looks really good, especially since it actually looks retro, and not the whole 'I suck at art so I made everything all chunky and pixelated. That's retro, right?' sort of look so many indie games seem to do. Plus, Virt. <3
Re: Retro City Rampage
It's still coming to WiiWare then? Good, I thought that might have been dropped. Since the game appears to be at least partly a homage to the 80s NES scene, it would be sad not to see it released on Nintendo hardware.

Re: Retro City Rampage
I'm really looking forward to this, my only problem is do I get the PC version tomorrow or wait a little longer and go for the PS3 version instead which includes the Vita version for free (and I can see it being great on the Vita). I might wait and see when the release date for the PS3 version is, hopefully it'll only be a week or two at most after the PC one...

Can't believe this has finally come out! I'm floored!
Well done to the producers for proving cynical old me wrong, can't wait for the WiiWare version.

Re: Retro City Rampage
It's well worth the wait. It not only parodies retro games but also 80's/90's film and TV and some recent stuff like Inception.
It has a ton of graphics filters like Spectrum, C64, Gameboy, CGA and VGA and you can add different borders like Arcade cabs and old style TV sets.
If your going for the PC version then get it off the official site as its a quid cheaper than on Steam and you get a drm free version as well as a steam key.

Thanks for the heads-up on that, Joey.Joey wrote:If your going for the PC version then get it off the official site as its a quid cheaper than on Steam and you get a drm free version as well as a steam key.

I was just about to buy the already discounted game via Steamworks for £10.79 when I noticed your post.
I subsequently purchased the game for the current price of $14.99 (£9.65

I've chosen to install the Steam version as it has online leaderboards but it's nice to also have the DRM-free version too.

Re: Retro City Rampage
Not really been that bothered about this game, but I was browsing GOG for something to do whilst I'm off work sick and decided to give it a try.
God.
Damn.
Brilliant.
I love the numerous references to the 80s and 90s, especially the bit where I was attacked by four humanoid turtles who came out of the sewer.

Re: Retro City Rampage
So I hear. I got a message from one of the devs saying so. He also sent me a code for a RCR avatar t-ShirtTheNewMonkey wrote:is this still coming to xbla on Jan 2nd?

Re: Retro City Rampage
I'm going to get this on my Vita but after reading Chiptune's review my only worry is that the graphics are too small, but i will take a chance on it anyway.
