Fantastic, I love it when software messes around with hardware like that 
Used to use a computer-learning thing in school and it would light up all the different lights on the keyboard to show where things are (caps lock, num lock etc). And another one off a floppy disk with a magazine (YEARS ago!) and it'd make the CD drive open and close by itself.

Well it's one way to misalign the drive heads.. although some of the copy protection on a lot of C64 disk games was pretty bad for banging the heads about, Turbo Outrun springs to mind, I used to cringe when I heard the dagga dagga of the heads banging away
