Retro Bookazine no.6

Post by greenberet79 » Thu Jun 07, 2012 4:43 am

I might have missed this somewhere already but the new number 6 bookazine is out - I just bought mine in Smiths. I only went in to get the Speccy/Commodore special, ended up spending £20 :?

No idea what's in it as I didn't even look at the contents, just swooped for it.

Thanks for the heads up. :) Fingers crossed my local WHSmiths stock this one as they tend to be very slow in having these on the shelves.

EDIT

It's on the Imagine Shop.

Yep I thought I'd missed out on the Speccy/C64 book, not sure if they've done a reprint or something as I've seen it around quite a few places in the last week.

I'd love 1 and 2, but no way I'm paying the crazy ebay prices!

Ah bugger, another one! I always buy them because I know I'll regret it if I don't (usually when I see those mad eBay prices), but they hardly ever get read. Vol.4 had a flick-through, I couldn't tell you what's in volume 5, but they're still "nice to have".

Now then, there's a Spectrum/C64 one... Will there be a Mega Drive/SNES one?

Great idea, I don't generally collect them, but I did the Spectrum/C64 one, I would a MD/SNES...lets go nuts! Lets have an Amiga/ST one as well, and add some more.
I would LOVE to see a tribute to '80 consoles too...VCS,5200, Intellivision, Odyssey 2, Vectrex, Colecovision etc etc...

If the powers that be are reading this then make an Amiga/ST book a priority. ;)

 Fair point, but plenty of stuff on both to make it a worthwhile and popular project IMO though. :) This'd also make an interesting topic...ideas for bookazines. Looking forward to getting the ZX/C64 one in the post, and love the Sci fi now Scifi Movie/TV double. Stunned it hasn't sold out, that one, it's brilliant.

Hopefully the upcoming ST article will change a few peoples opinions about the much maligned computer.

I had an ST at one stage, not for long granted, but I always liked it. My mates had Amigas and took the P something chronic, but at the time I liked the built in MIDI for with the synths. Until I realised I was crap and got into painting instead

I'm not against the ST, FWIW, but when you're talking about reprint two-part bookazines, you need enough in the bank, and I can't think of that many ST-specific pieces in the mag.
