Retro City Rampage
I'd forgotten all about this game with all the big releases from Christmas, but reading about it again in the latest issue I can't wait now, it looks fantastic!!!

....I'd forgotten about it until you just mentioned it here.
Ahhh, now I remember though. Yes, I'll be waiting for that as well.... here's hoping it comes out good, like it looks like it will.
Re: Retro City Rampage
It looks great. Would make an idea portable game imo. Is it coming to PSV or 3DS?

I was reading an interview lately that said the whole Xbox Live application process had really screwed him over which is why it's taking so long. Really looking forward to it.

Apparently so, yes. Not sure if I'll get it for that or the Xbox version. Hopefully both systems will demo the game so I can try out the controls.killbot wrote:Is it still coming to WiiWare?
I first heard about RCR about 18 months ago I'd guess. It'd better be good after such a long wait!!
Re: Retro City Rampage
The Wii would be the best bet, surely - a Wiimote tipped on its side to emulate a NES pad has got to be the preferred control method given that the entire game is a NES homage.Mire Mare wrote:Apparently so, yes. Be nice to see WiiWare get a last hurrah anyway - it's never really gotten a name for itself like XBLA or PSN despite some top-notch games (Lostwinds 1&2, World Of Goo, the Bit.Trip series, Tales Of Monkey Island)

That explains a bit.
I'd heard about this like AGES ago... been quite awhile. Not the first time I've heard of the XBLA application thing getting really funky, either.

Re: Retro City Rampage
Maybe, but I'll keep an open mind. I don't know anything about the controls yet, but if the game is designed with analogue in mind, and has more than 8 way directional control, it may feel a little clunky on a d-pad.killbot wrote:The Wii would be the best bet, surely - a Wiimote tipped on its side to emulate a NES pad has got to be the preferred control method given that the entire game is a NES homage.Mire Mare wrote:Apparently so, yes. Re: Retro City Rampage
Damn shame this game seemingly won't be making a PS3 release. As I don't own an Xbox 360 it looks like I'll have to tolerate playing the WiiWare release then.
