I'm sure we've done this before. But let's do it again.

What's your favourite Spectrum game?

Lords of Midnight - First game that made me think wow!

Superb strategy game, essentially linear but a great sense of freedoom. Presentation, packaging, everything was just right!

It's always going to be Elite. Way ahead of its time, and still very playable and fun.

Crikey, what a question.

The one that sprung to mind first was Chaos. Great days. Still play it regularly now.

I don't care about being obvious because Jet Set Willy WAS my favourite Spectrum game, and still is. I played it to death in the 80's, and I still play it today on emulator and iPhone... in fact I'd say it is probably my favourite game ever, on any system.

My friend had a Spectrum and the game I played most on it was Manic Miner. I still like it, and it's good on other computers, too, so I'll have to go with that.

Jetpac was also a favourite (I'm looking forward to the Jetpac RG cover :D ).

I think when the Spectrum keeps things simple, with no messy backgrounds, it is at its best. When they add backgrounds everything is the same colour and things get confusing and very messy.
