Re: Cheats engrained in your memory
Not a proper cheat perhaps, but a useless nugget of info I never thought I'd have a fourm to share... until now.
Aladdin on the MD.
Turn on game. Yank out the cart. Insert Sonic*. Reset game. Yank out cart. Replace with Aladdin. Reset game.
Aladdin has now disappeared. Pressing right on the D-pad lets you scroll to the end of each level an on to the next!

Make sure it's a soft reset, not a hard reset. Similarly, you can get Sonic 3's almost-impossible-to-do level select by putting Sonic 2 in the machine, doing the Sonic 2 level select code, swapping the cart with Sonic 3, and soft-resetting.club wrote:Not a proper cheat perhaps, but a useless nugget of info I never thought I'd have a fourm to share... until now.

Re: Cheats engrained in your memory
Define keys as "zorba" in exolon. The only cheat i ever learned because i played the game so much.
Re: Cheats engrained in your memory
The most memorable for me is the unlimited Time cheat for Tearaway Thomas on the Commdore Amiga. You had to type in timeflieslikeabanana, however I could never get it to work
Another was the cheat mode code for McDonald Land on the Amiga, the code this time was spicy beanburger.
Much more enjoyable than your average Up, Down, Left, Right, A + Start codes

Oh and ...---... (which never seemed to work)
Anyone remember which games these were from (the second is a lot tougher to get than the first)
I can't for the life of me remember what it did though. It changed one of the icons to an infinity symbol I think.
That's right , surprised anyone got that
Ok here's another...
COMEFLYWITHME (NOT the GTA one)
which just sprung into my head. It's amazing how useless information sits there!
Oh , and Creatures for the C64 has to have the most ingenious cheat.

Did a similar thing to that with Decap Attack the other day. No cartridge pulling necessary, but the game got messed up somehow... It involved doing the slow falling, and running at the same time, and somehow a pit of lava had been elevated up the screen by about 25%. Chuck walked into it, died, and the level started over, only the screen was a big mess of pixels with Chuck's extended head falling downwards slowly, and various enemies slowly moving up the screen.club wrote:Not a proper cheat perhaps, but a useless nugget of info I never thought I'd have a fourm to share... until now.

No idea how it happened, as I haven't done it again since. And in over fifteen years of playing that game, I've never seen it happen before - fun things to be had with cartridges, or something.

PARAPONZIPOPO
MBARIVIDISOCCAFFARIMBARI
TERAKAKKU
All for Shadow Fighter on the Amiga.
Does anyone know what they mean in Italian? I've seen Paraponzipopo used elsewhere on the webz.

Going postal on the high score entry screen on Target: Renegade on the Spectrum awarded you with infinte lives and a nicely corrupted screen (initially anyway). A cheat code found purely by chance when expressing extreme dissatisfaction at losing the last life and thrashing the keyboard to death.
