Anything from Garou and Last Blade, both boast incredible looking stages. I also really like that blossom tree stage from Fatal Fury Special (?).

Yes I really like the Mai's stage from Real Bout Fatal Fury 2 which had a blssom tree I believe. Not to mention those fantastic ring out stages from the original Real Bout.

This is the PsOne version but the Dreamcast game has a better resolution.

From Last Blade 2, very atmospheric!

You just can't beat the sound of crashing waves & clashing swords :)

Christ on a bike, nice catches, people!

The last one I believe is indeed a fan edit, as it isn't proper 3D...but it's a damn good attempt, when you see it in motion. My favourites would have to be the 3 that preceed it though. That submarine one has sailors jumping ship in the background and allsorts of shenanigans.

And I've got the Another World stages...that tentacle made me a bit nervous when I first saw it rise up.

I've got that one on my list there. I've got Arthur Brown as the soundtrack to this stage.

I like the Jamaica stage from Super Street Fighter 2:

The Orbital Rings stage from Tatsunoko vs Capcom 8)

Also like Street Fighter 4's Small Airfield (Africa) stage

My favourites are in Soul Calibur on the Dreamcast though....such as Venice:

and The Ruins of Ostrheinsburg Castle (Nightmare's stage)

Pretty much all the Soul Calibur stages look great though. :)

A beat-em-up is a game like Streets of Rage.

In which case, level 1 of SoR2.
Ah, just realised that. If we're gonna talk strictly 'beat 'em ups' and not 'fighters', then my vote goes to Stage 2 (Alleycat Blues) of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles in Time:

Looks great, and the music was superb :)

The Snow stage from Virtua Fighter 4
Just for being one of those stages where it makes you think that Sega are being show offs.

Was about to post this one. Great stage.

I played the game (sadly, the PSX version) yesterday for the first time and it was raining in the city where I live so I could relate quite well: A rainy cityscape on the right side and the ever-glowing, ever-tempting world of games and entertainment on the left - genius. If only they had proper Japanese arcades around these parts as well... I need to move to Tokyo I guess.

And btw, Last Blade II in its entirety is a piece of game art, long before the often cited Shadow of the Colossus and Ico.

Also the Dead Rising stage. Love all the zombies wandering around behind the action.
