Who remembers this one?.Bullfrog game that was released on the amiga,pc,megadrive and many other platforms. The story borrows on a everything that's controlled by big corporations in battle of ultimate control.Pc port had superior graphics and sounds. There where expansion packs released for the amiga and pc..Eventually the CD32 version was granted a release that had a big let down despite from bullfrog saying this would be the ultimate port that would have the pc features, but was essentially an A500 port.

Re: Syndicate
I've been tempted by the 3DO version which I always thought was one of the best ports.
Retro is a state of mind, and cares not for your puny concepts like dates and calendars.
Re: Syndicate
Syndicate was excellent. I finished it on my Amiga, though I'm sure nothing happened when I did the last mission. It just returned to the map. Maybe I had a bad copy.

Re: Syndicate
I loved this game on Amiga, remember when I first clapped eyes on it round a friends and fell in love. It was unlike pretty much any game I'd played before it, I was never a fan of Bulldog's earlier isometric God sims like Populous or Powermonger but this game was so different. I think I got right up to the end (Atlantic Accelerator?) but got my arse handed to me, the game would chug within seconds of starting it with gauss guns being fired everywhere, so that was a bit crap, but overall amazing game.
My favourite missions was the assassination one, where you kill the president with a sniper, well actually that was up to you as it was very open ended.

Re: Syndicate
One of my most favourite games EVER.
One thing I discovered: Develop your tech until you get to a Lv 3 Chest modification (The one that can self-destruct) and also give your Agent a Shield Device.
Then; Drug your Agent until he runs super-fast and charge him straight to your target. Then explode him and immediately activate the Shield. It'll stop your Agent burning to death in the explosion but kill anything around him, including everything if your target was in a building at the time!
Dead target. Alive Agent. Mission complete!
*oh and whoever designed the incredibly hard American Revolt expansion needs to be kicked in the nuts. Repeatedly.

Re: Syndicate
Yeah I remember it, loved it even though I wasn't very good at it, tried playing it again a couple of years ago on the pc.
It's begging for a DS port though perhaps the screen is a bit small. Online battles could be a gaming phenomenon if the DS could handle it.

Re: Syndicate
The sequel is quite impressive on Playstation. A little buggy in places, but still lots of fun.
It wasn't reviewed well at the time, but its one of those games that took over my life for the duration. Never did complete that final mission though.

I believe it's just the Amiga port (i could be wrong) it also has no 3DO mouse support which makes playing it something of a ball-ache.Megamixer wrote:I've been tempted by the 3DO version which I always thought was one of the best ports.

Re: Syndicate
i had the SNES version back in the day, i remember buying it on a holiday in France for a then budget price of about 17£ (together, at the same price, with Smash Tennis)
i liked it very much, it was something completely different from many other games and i almost finished it except for 1 mission
a DS version would be phenomenal news
