Just seen who that "celebrity guest" is - hope no-one's said anything too strange about her in the Would You thread.

Hmmm... I really want to go to this, but going to Blackpool fills me with a sense of fear and dread - is it far away enough from all the garish nonsense with the hen/stag/chav places? I know that makes me sound like a snob. In fact - yes, yes I am
Will probably go on the Saturday - drive on the day (just over an hour's drive for me)

Yes, it is.MikeFishcake wrote:is it far away enough from all the garish nonsense with the hen/stag/chav places?
The Norbreck is up the far North Shore end of the promenade. It's near the Bispham area, so definitely 'out of town' as such. However, it's the last illuminations weekend so there'll be a lot of traffic about (the illuminations usually go up as far as Bispham most times) but we may be lucky as the illuminations wasn't as big last year (not as many lights ..... hmmm that'll cut down on the leccy bill)
Position wise, I think the venue is pretty much perfect. It's out of town, but not far to get in to town with lots of accessible routes (tram, taxi, bus, your own car or a nice walk)
[EDIT: Damn! Arcadian beat me to it]

If you decide to use the Tram quite a bit during your stay, get a discount all day or all week ticket. With one of those, you can use the Tram as much as you like during the period you buy the ticket for (usually a set amount, can't remember prices, but they are well cheap normally)TwoHeadedBoy wrote:Grand, an excuse to use a tram after all these yearsRalph Milne's Left Foot wrote:Not likely 3-4 miles ! However, the trams stop running at midnight, so not much good if you're expecting to catch the tram after the clubs kick out!
