Early '90s PC Gaming Magazine (Scans)

Post by quantum » Fri Apr 03, 2009 9:10 am

While browsing some online scans of The One magazine I was reminded of a PC games magazine I used to buy. It was unique at the time as the PC wasn't really viewed as a games machine, and the PC wasn't even that popular in the UK.

Does anyone know of a site with scans of old PC mags? PC Games, PC Plus, PC Leisure, etc...

Maybe Retromags can help you with it.

Thanks for the site, but they don't have any UK PC mags: http://www.retromags.com/forums/UK-downloads-cat39.html

Some mags are complete scans, while others are just cover and contents:

I remember the PC mag that I'm after was fairly thin (low on pages) in the early issues, and it might have even been bi-monthly... I'm so p|ssed that I got rid of my pristine magazine collection :(

Yeah, great magazine! I had an old PC when I started buying the mag, but after some serious saving purchased an Amiga. Happy days...

The One scans and many others can be downloaded free from Underground Gamer. There's a list of what they've got here:

I'm sure I own a copy of The One DVD, but can't find it anywhere. Can someone who has the DVD check the number of Maverick issues that are on the disc? I have a vague memory of reading an issue of The One Amiga that contained just 16 pages. The last issue listed on AMR is the April 1996 edition which contains 32/36 pages.

I've got the DVD of scanned "The One" issues. Think it was £5 from eBay.
The quality is ok, as many of the pages are black and white, while others were scanned at really bad angles!

Didn't anyone else buy PC Leisure magazine then?
