SNES games with Mode 7 features

Post by thl » Thu Aug 31, 2006 1:10 pm

I remembered several games used Mode 7 capability to improve the supremacy of the gameplay. Games for example F-Zero had achieved that route, which again broke the boundaries for next-gen gaming. Later titles such as Contra III, Super Mario Kart, Axelay, Hyperzone, and Super Soccer made its mark onto that scene.

I was so impressed by the fast-pace motion. Very smooth, very slick, it's all been rendered very cleverly. I thought the camera angles that help support the textures and mapping was absolutely spot on. I thought a lot of hard work was require in order to gain that success.

Super Mario Kart and F-Zero are my favourite SNES game with that Mode 7 features. :D

Super Mario Kart is one of the greatest games of all time, so it wins this by default. 8)

No Castlevania 4 :(.

Still, of those choices, Mario Kart would win anyway.

Yeah, its a very incomplete list, I'd go with Super Ghouls and Ghosts, or Castlevania, maybe Pilotwings, Super Mario World (just Bowser at the end, but such a great boss!) but of those its tight between Mario Kart and Axelay... Axelay takes it because I love my shooters.
