From memory we have super hang on, Phantasy Star II and Phantasy Star III. Don't know how much these are worth but Phantasy Star II was £30 and had no instructiosn and a tatty box. I think we also had a few tatty SNES games but I wasn't really looking!

You make some decent points takesages, I see where you are coming from on the 'its a business' front, but I would argue the above point. I would definately say most retro gamers are also modern gamers.takesages wrote:

True and I do agree with the other stuff (that I didn't quote) but in all fairness, retro gamers aren't always exclusively into retro so it isn't a definite no-no.takesages wrote:Indeed, but that's a terrible example:Megamixer wrote:A lot of businesses have products/services that aren't massively profitable or successful but they keep them going purely to retain the custom and preventing it from going elsewhere.

Retro is a state of mind, and cares not for your puny concepts like dates and calendars.

Hmm, obviously I don't have stats! But if you look aroudn these forums you will find a fair few people who really don't like modern games at all. Perhaps these are just the people that make the most fuss though ;] That's all I was really basing that on :] Seriously, I wish GS *did* stock a good selection of retro stuff - the one in Brimingham did when I was younger and it was a whole huge second floor - it was great.

All these posts and none of you thread hijackers have offered me a suggestion for my GS credit.

Don't come to York GS, unless you want Sega GT on DC or Tomb Raider on PS! As previuosly stated, sell it or keep it for until some Retro items come into stock or get a Wiirossi46 wrote:All these posts and none of you thread hijackers have offered me a suggestion for my GS credit.![]()

I have noticed some GS's selling Gamecube stock for slightly more decent prices recently. But PS2 and Xbox is about as far back as they go otherwise. Shame really - in America they have tons of retro back to GBA in Gamestop (their equivalent of GAME) which is pretty darn neat.
Maybe you could purchase a DSPhat or GBA:SP with that £54? Both are very good systems for games : )

Re: £53 GS credit and left the shop empty-handed
To be fair, GBA is the same generation as the PS2, so it's not so much a case of 'going back' really?
I agree though dood, but I'd rather get a brilliant GBA than an outdated DS.

GS Oxford has 5 billion copies of Super Star Wars on the Snes, boxed at a tenner a pop.

I put it towards a replacement PSP as I discovered I couldn't live without the one I sold last week

Thoughts and prayers.
