Re: Post your iPod Touch games here
I haven't touched my DS since I got my iPhone, and the says a LOT.
Currently I'm enjoying;
Drop7(better than tetris)
Peggle
Monster pinball(bloody awesome pinball-game with gorgeous graphics)
Space invaders infinity gene(THIS is how you revive a 30 year old game)
Blimp(space taxi with a hot air balloon and bombs!)
Draw race(super sprint with a twist)
Crazy penguin catapult

anothe classic adventure has arrived on the Itouch & Iphone, just got it today..
Simon the Sorcerer 1
iPhSoft Category:
Games Price: £2.99
Released: Aug 06, 2009
Size: 74.8 MB

Application description *****************************************
The much loved and highly popular adventure game from 1993 returns in this special remastered edition for the iPhone and iPod touch.
Simon the Sorcerer is a graphical point-and-click adventure game.
It received very high ratings and became one of the most popular and loved games of the genre.
It is very similar in style to LucasArts' many popular point-and-click adventures of the 1990s, like Monkey Island.
*****************************************
There are some things that kids just shouldn't have to put up with. Being transported to some weird dimension full of goblins, dwarves, swamplings, stupid wizards and sleeping giants is definitely one of them.
Simon is a teenager transported into a fantasy world as a sorcerer dressed in a cloak and pointy hat. He must use his logic and magical skills to solve puzzles as he progresses through the game.
The story begins with the protagonist, Simon, as an ordinary teenager. His dog, "Chippy", discovers a chest in the loft of his house containing a spellbook titled "Ye Olde Spellbooke". Simon throws the book onto the floor in contempt, but a portal opens above it. Chippy goes through the portal and Simon follows.
After entering the portal, Simon finds himself in another world. He escapes from some goblins who intended to eat him and discovers that he has been brought on a quest to rescue the wizard Calypso from the evil sorcerer Sordid.
When Simon discovers the tuneless bard, the repulsive Rapunzel and a pair of demons with a serious attitude problem, it could prove to be one cliché too far.
With a Nobel Prize for attempted humour and puzzles so fiendish you'll certainly need help from the wise owl, Simon the Sorcerer is guaranteed to provide a distraction from the drudgery of modern life.
"Gorgeously drawn, superbly animated" – PC REVIEW

Re: Post your iPod Touch games here
Civ Rev just showed up. Just send a PR request, so I've not got the app yet. It'll be interesting to see how it compares to the slightly disappointing DS version. I'd love it if they've tweaked the AI to be less aggressive and more interested in strategic progression.

First Monkey and now Simon. Brilliant. I hope revolution release Beneath a Steel Sky. That would make me happy.

Man, you really need to do a quick web search for "Beneath a Steel Sky iPhone". I'm sure what you'll find will make you a very happy bunny indeed.
EDIT: Pah. Mike got there first. Yah boo sucks to you, sir.

Thanks for the heads up; I'm downloading the Lite version now. I was thinking that the iPod touch desperately needed a Civ game, although I probably would've preferred a good port of Civ 2.CraigGrannell wrote:Civ Rev just showed up. Now we need a Railroad Tycoon game.
Re: Post your iPod Touch games here
Just downloading Civ lite ... hopefully it's at least as good as the Amiga version I've spent many an hour playing ...

Re: Post your iPod Touch games here
Civ Rev's actually quite similar to the original game, but the DS release was hell-bent on war, and there was almost no strategy compared to Civ II, which I still love. Still not tried the Apple release.

You should see how happy I am. It seems Dave Gibbons is working on it in the same way they did Broken Sword on the DS. Fecking brilliant. I hate to say it, but the ipod touch is now officially my favourite handheld ever.
I'm off to google SWOS iphone, The Settlers iphone, Jones in the Fast Lane iphone, space quest 4 iphone etc. etc. etc.

Re: Post your iPod Touch games here
SWOS would be a nightmare on iPod, but I wish Codemasters would release Cannon Fodder. Grunts shows that it's possible, but that game's ruined by shoddy controls and a lack of tactics. Settlers would work easily enough, as long as the dev team didn't break it (*cough*Settlers DS*cough*).

How about making it a mix between sensi and subutteo? You touch the player you want to control and move him around by dragging, when you want to pass or shoot you flick your finger in that direction?CraigGrannell wrote:SWOS would be a nightmare on iPod

Newly added classic PC Shooter
Duke.Nukem.3D.v1.0

Description: That’s right you can now play the original Duke Nukem 3D on your iPhone or iPod Touch. But would you want to? Duke Nukem 3D for the iPhone is a complete port of the original 1991 shooter. That means the over-the-top soundbites, the gratuitous pixelated borderline soft porn and the more than 20 hours worth of gameplay. The most important thing with a iPhone game, though, is the controls. And for a first-person shooter that goes double. This iPhone port, developed by Machineworks Northwest, uses something they call TapShoot which the company describes as a “unique way to play first-person shooters on the iPhone and iTouch.”

Size:11.83 MB
Price £1.99
no bad for a gr8 little FPS
