What did you buy at the carboot today ??

i was supposed to go to the bootsale today to flog some stuff....didn't quite make it (woke up at 12.30pm)

i agree with getting there really early. I got to the Pinnacles bootie at 12pm. Didnt find much, mind (mainly because of the f**king rain!!). I did miss out on one bargain. A GB Color and a few games for Â£20. wish i bought it now. Other than that, it was a load of chuff.

But other times I have been there at about 9am (paid three quid mind) but that gets you good stuff. And you cant find good stuff there after a certain time. Also, drive around and find a massive boot sale. There is normally a few around me. Upshire near Epping is one, Stewerdstone, also near Epping, is another. There's also Romford, Dunton, Nevendon and I think there is one in Chigwell. You need, nae, MUST find the big ones to bag any kind of bargain.

Got a pretty good haul from the Wrexham / Chester area.

Megadrive with Master System Convertor plus 10 boxed games. Â£5
Atari 2600 with 8 games. Â£5
Dreamcast - Â£5
Lots of PS1 and PS2 games
Zelda Collection Gamecube Â£1

Know the feeling all to well of having items nicked from right under my nose.

Picked up a PS1 game that ive wanted for ages - Vagrant story Â£2 plus 12 SNES & NES carts for Â£10
PS1 - Mouse Â£1
PS1 -3D Lemmings, Wild Arms & bomberman Â£2 each
PS2 - TTSuperbikes, Simpsons road rage & happy feet

(it was 3 for a fiver)

I didn't go to any car boots over the weekend due to the rain. It also left the spaces half empty meaning that not many sellers had turn up because of the weather.

Might go there later this week as long it's sunny.

Very slim pickings in Lowestoft last weekend. Some guy was selling a boxed 48k speccy (looked mint) for Â£50. A little overpriced? But i did get one of those plug and play Atari anthology things for a quid. That one is definitely going on ebay.

I resisted temptation and didn't buy anything...

...until I saw an Amstrad CPC464 - never had one before and it came with about 40 games and a crappy green monitor for Â£15, so I thought I'd treat myself - hehe.

My (pregnant) wife went to one with me last one and she nearly threw up after walking past dougnut and burger vans. Doughnuts really stink!

Once in 1998 I was walking down a street close to my home and discovered a perfect condition Atari 520STFM propped up against a wall with the rubbish for taking away.

I assisted them with the volume of their waste and used it as an ornament for almost six years in my next apartment.

I'm afraid to say I never switched it on, though. I left it there when we moved out.

Before I was 'in' to Retro gaming the school where I work put 30 Atari STs (with monitors etc...) in a skip and I didn't even bother to take one!
