Re:
true, but a good percentage of the England national team were on show...junkmale wrote:So just how many Englishmen where on the pitch then??
The ref and linesmen don't count!
Mr Flibble says...
"Game over , boys!"
"Game over , boys!"
Um.....?
Peter Crouch, Jamie Carragher and Stephen Gerard a good percentage in the showpiece final of English football??
The English Premier League at the minute to me is really just full of foreign players.
Its not a good sign for the future of the national game (in England) if good, young local players are not being given the chance at club level.
Its very much the same here in Northern Ireland. The National time is full of players plying their trade with the likes of Crewe and Chesterfield (no offence intended to any fans of those clubs on this forum!).
We have 3 divisions here locally and only one player has been selected nationally.
Still think and hope England will do well in the World Cup though...don't think they'll win it but will be there or thereabouts.

The greatest English player alive has comitted his future to Liverpool, why would we need to win without him?
Don't be bitter, let us have our 10 minutes.
And all this about too many foreigners in the Prem not being good for the English game, its not a new thing, Chelsea and Arsenal both fielded completely foreign teams about 5 years ago and the English national team is still considered one of the favourites for this years world cup.
