E3 - which console?

So Sony and Nintendo have showcased their new consoles - so which one (if any) is everyone going to get?

Everyone seems to like the new motion sensored controller for Nintendo. And the new Zelda game will be available on launch (enhanced for the wii).

Not sure if I'm going to get any. I never played my gamecube as much as my N64.

But I am liking the games coming up for the DS - they're re-doing Final Fantasy 3 with 3D graphics. I think I'll get the new slim line vesion of this.

It's Wii for me

Found a torrent of the E3 Nintendo seminar and I just the Wii "wii's" all over the opposition .. I'm actually getting excited about playing "new" games and not re-hashes or endless follow-up's ...

Wii - the controller, the downloadable retro games, the continuing franchises, and the new ideas.

I won't rule out getting a PS3 completely though. Maybe later when the price has dropped...

I will be getting all of them, but in what order...

1. The Nintendo Wii - I love games and Nintendo have always made games machines, nothing more and nothing less.

2. Playstation 3 - There are always some fantastic
games brought out for Sony's machines, just look at the great Playstation games thread to see just how many of the games we all take for granted were made possible because of Sonys hardware.

3. Xbox 360, it will be cheap by then and look good on my shelf next to the Xbox..

It's the PS3 for me. I don't like Nintendo games, MS will never get any of my money, and the PS3 is the most advanced console and also has a BD drive as well.

The only downside is the price. I'll wait until the price drops and the first "must have" game is released. I should have one next Spring.

There's no chance of me getting a 360, and very, very little chance of picking up a PS3 (especially if the suggested launch price happens). As for the Wii... perhaps. It actually looks like it might have fun games, interesting control methods, and Nintendo's not charging double to try and shoe-horn a "next gen" DVD format into my living room.

I already have the 360, but I'll probably have a Wii at launch, nice and cheap. PS3? Maybe, but not until a serious price drop.

Just a thought on this: Who'll be selling these 'Wii enhanced' GameCube games?

I went game shopping last week to find Game are flogging off what they have in stock and HMV & Virgin have already dropped the Cube.

By the time Wii launches I'm not sure there'll be any Nintendo retailers left.

Seeing as ALL the high street retail chains couldn't give a stuff about the product they are sell, only the cash it will generate I should think all of the large evil chain stores will stock it to grab as much cash as they can at launch.
They will stock it under the "NEW NINTENDO" banner and if you ask if it is compatible with the cube they will say:

1 - "It will be best to buy the new Wii to ensure 100% compatibilty, try our over priced packaged deal sir/madam"

2 - "I Dunno...?" with a gormless look about their face........

Won't they be trying to plug the PS3 instead of the Wii?

Also stocking Wii games at the back of the shop and PS3/360 games at the front?

They will plug all of them at the start, see which 2 take hold then drop the third...

As for store positioning (sp..?) isn't that where they always keep the Nintendo, hidden away at the back of the store...?

Maybe I'll buy a "Oui" when it's really really cheap. The downloadable retro games are the only thing which attract me, I'm not looking for a new Mario or Zelda.
Since it's only LiveArcade which interests me with the X360, I'll buy that one when it's, well, really cheap. (See Wee
