Best Driving game (in a shoot em up)

Anyway, back on subject.....
My vote for best shoot'em up soundtrack goes to either Viewpoint or the arcade version of Flying Shark

Incidentally, if you can count any of the Metroid games as shoot 'em ups, I love the soundtrack for Metroid: Zero Mission on the GBA....especially the updated version of the classic intro screen music.....really sets the mood and lets you know you're in for an epic adventure.

For me the best soundtrack I've heard in a shoot-em-up is the amazing Bio-Hazard Battle on the Mega Drive - the pumping bass soundtrack on some levels juxtaposed with the simple yet effective melodies on the others - it's a beautiful balancing act and makes the Mega-CD's AV outputs even the more useful!
Brilliant game too - one of the best shmups I've played in a long time

Definitely ANYTHING from RAIZING, Souky has an incredible soundtrack as does Battle Garegga, Dimahoo and Kingdom GP. They just the best music for shumps ever and in particular a track entitled Spiral Locus which was featured in Mahou Daisakusen and Armed Police Batrider, nothing else has got my adrenaline pumping so hard in a shmup as that tune has. Stab n Stomp from Battle Garegga is another favourite.

Both stick in my head like crazy, even play the soundtracks in the car.
