Favourite spaceship (from a shoot em up)

Post by Darran@Retro Gamer » Wed Jul 02, 2008 12:01 pm

Hi guys, after numerous feedback about the top 25, we're going to be changing their look and making them more reader interactive. Therefore I'd love to know what your favourite space craft is.

It has got to be the spacecraft in the shoot em'up 'Blaze On' as it can morph into a flying macross style robot once collected a power up.

In terms of aesthetics I still like the 1950's style spaceship in the original Scramble.

Other than that its a toss up between RTypes classic R9 fighter and the Bunny Girl on a rocket from Parodius, in fact just about any of the 'ships' from Gokujou Parodius in particular.

Probably the one from Blasteroids - being able to morph into different ships depending on the situation (more speed , firepower or armour) made the game much more tactical

TIE Fighter I think. I still have my original die cast model from when I was a kid on top of my PC.

The naked winged chick in Insects in Space. Obvious reasons.

Battle Squadron on the Amiga - loved the ship in that, though Project X must come close :D

It's got to be the R9 from R-type.
