32x Virtua racing - either as a main feature or as part of a bigger feature on the arcade parent.

?! The arcade version is king, it'd surely be the first choice for a feature over any of its ports.

Yeah, I know - but I have a very special place in my heart for the 32X version (so good it takes away the pain inflicted by the Saturn version - I actually got hold a a Saturn a couple of years ago primarily to play it after a week caning the arcade machine on Teignmouth Pier).

The 32X version is massively underrated (although it did get a deserved nod in the top 25 racers you've never heard of in a recent RG article)

Traps 'n Treasures (amiga)

great game!
For a videogame that was released 11 years ago now, Perfect Dark for the N64 completely trounces all its FPS competitors
of the last decade or so, in terms of variety of multiplayer option at your disposal.

Gamesâ„¢ did a making-of on that game, not Retro Gamer. Driver (1) would definitely be a good one. I've pitched that to Total PC Gaming for my redux stuff, although that's only an overview rather than a making-of.

The Sharp series of home computers. Particularly the MZs which were around at the same time as Commodore's PET and VIC-20, the ZX-81 and others of that period. They seem to be long forgotten now but even the most popular magazines of the time (Your Computer for instance) carried type-ins for them alongside the other machines and reviewed software etc for them at the time. The Sharp Users Club (the original one started in '83) is still going strong. Long overdue covering these machines if you ask me. Not that anyone else remembers them, but they are interesting from a pure retro point of view.

Especially as it's SOOO playable in MAME. I did see an online feature - can't remember where - comparing ALL the VR ports and the arcade version. Some quite MAJOR differences. I'll see if I can find it

Is there actually a coherent reason why, in over 50 issues, this classic still hasn't been done full justice??
