Old TV Phone Numbers
Where do all the old phone numbers used on 80s TV programmes go to?
Going Lives number used to be 0181 811 8181.
I know all the London codes got changed to 0207 and 0208 years ago, but I don't know how they decided who got which code.
And does anyone remember any old phone numbers from other 80s shows?

0207 is central london, 0208 is greater london or possibly the other way round, despite living in London I've no idea.

And long before that, the same number - in its 01 811 8181 incarnation - was first used for Noel Edmonds' Multicoloured Swap Shop... replacing the old favourite 01 811 8055 as it was presumably easier to remember...?ColonelK wrote:Going Lives number used to be 0181 811 8181.

Actually, according to this it seems I was wrong:

...which is really odd, because not too long ago I definitely saw a clip of something - with Noel Edmonds - that did use 01 811 8181.
I actually feel slightly spooked out now. By a telephone number. Christ

I remember Going Live's telephone number because they used to sing it. That brings back memories and makes me feel oldColonelK wrote:Where do all the old phone numbers used on 80s TV programmes go to?

I should remember that forever due to annoying my parents by ringing every morning to try to play the games!
