Comix Zone would make a great movie. I just recently played this gem thanks to the Sega Collection on PS2.

I would like to see an Obscure movie or Beyond Good and Evil. Rule of Rose could be interesting if done correctly. Right now I am trying to remain positive about the upcoming Clock Tower movie. I adore those games ( the first two anyway).

Kurt Russell to old? Never! That's like saying Harrison Ford is too old to play Indiana Jones. I won't have it.

A Fallout movie would be good.

From what I understand , Monkey Island was based on the Pirates Of The Carribean ride in Disneyland , so it follws that any film of the ride would bear some resemblance to the games

And in my opinion Depp is as close to Threepwood as cinema will allow

Pirates of the Caribbean was not the inspiration for Monkey Island no.

Which might explain why apart from the fact a pirate occasionally turns up they have nothing in common.

I just wrote and delete a huge listed of differences between Guybrush and Jack but basically they're completely opposite characters. You're almost supicious it was based it would have taken effort to make the characters more different by coincidence.

I was sorting through some boxes today and I came across my copy of Tim Power's On Stranger Tides, which I read in the late 80's and was the inspiration for Monkey Island. Some people believe the inspiration for Monkey Island came from the Pirates of the Caribbean ride - probably because I said it several times during interviews - but that was really just for the ambiance. If you read this book you can really see where Guybrush and LeChuck were (plagiarized) derived from, plus the heavy influence of voodoo in the game.

I gotta disagree with you - both Jack and Guybrush are self-important big-heads , but are basically clueless to what is going on around them , and seem to prevail more by luck than their own ability

According Wikpedia , according to Gilbert MI borrowed extensively from the ride , whilst POTC 2 borrowed from MI

Apart from the voodoo lady living in a bog , giving Guybrush - sorry Jack a starnge compass that would help him find what he was looking for , Jack using a coffin for a boat - but the clincher for me is the line "Look ! an undead monkey!" (Guybrush would shout "Look! a 3 headed monkey!")

Whether its based on the ride is neither here nor there - but it certainly does have close ties to the films

I think if Guybrush could be compared to anyone in those movies it would be Orlando Blooms character Will Whatsisface.
