Post Your Controversial Views on Popular Games
You know the ones. The games everyone else in the world seems to like except you.
I'll start with saying that I just don't get the fascination with the Final Fantasy games. The very idea of them just bores the hell out of me.
Also, Goldeneye was never really as good as people seem to remember it being.

I agree about Goldeneye, obviously it was revolutionary for it's time but I don't think it's aged well at all.
Another one is HALO (and it's sequel) people banged on and on about how great it was, but the fact was that the PC FPS' were doing it WELL before HALO and doing it much better.
Maybe it's the fact that HALO brought FPS' to the mainstream?.

James Bond licensed games are good. That controversial enough?

'Different people liking different things shocker!'
While there are certainly plenty of games out there that are immensely popular that I just don't enjoy, I can easily see why they are popular. I don't enjoy playing Resident Evil 4 for example, but that doesn't stop me appreciating that it's a terrifically well-made game. It's just not my particular cup of tea.
I honestly can't think of any games that are both popular and critically admired that I think are simply rubbish. I don't really like Zelda games much but I definitely wouldn't say they are bad games, or undeserving of their popularity.
Of course, there are plenty of games that are simply popular that are bad - but then they're generally considered to be so. Not much of a controversy there
