Gamecube prices, annoying.....
Really annoyed at the prices I am finding everywhere for gamecube games.
Whilst Game is only stocking second hand games, the price is very high on all the games thanks to the Wii's backwards compatability.
Really want Paper Mario and Chibi Robo, but the prices on the net and in store are well over the top. I've seen them being sold new at 79 quid!
Really shouldn't be seeing these prices. I'd get them NTSC but even then the prices are really inflated.

The Wii's BC has nothing to do with it. Gamecube games rarely ever dropped their price even before the Wii was announced. They, and all Nintendo games for that matter, always hold their price even if there's little real reason to. It's annoying though, you got that right.kiniki wrote:...the price is very high on all the games thanks to the Wii's backwards compatability.

I paid £45 for GC twilight princess about 4 months ago, £25 for a second hand copy of ikaruga but i expected to pay pretty high prices for those two games because of the rarity, even tho twilight princess is a fairly recent game try finding a copy on the high street
, most other GC games are normally pretty cheap in game station 3 for £20 etc..
btw, paper mario sells for around £25 second hand in most blockbuster branches

Mine's had that tatty Super SW box at £14.99 for over 2 years nowWils wrote:In my local GS, they're selling SNES Illusion of Time for nearly 30 quid, although I actually think this has come *down* in price from what is was before.paranoid marvin wrote:SNES Super Star Wars still sells for £14.99 at my local GS

The price of the games depends on the titles & if they are sought after or not. The likes of the Paper Marios & Zeldas will be over the 20 quid mark since they are considered one of the most wanted & best games on the GC. There are other games like Billy Hatchett & the Star Wars series which are lower in price, still good games although not in the same status as the Zeldas or Marios. I was still astonished that second hand copies of Zelda TP for GC are still being sold for £40+, yet newer copies can be bought for less than that.

You're just not shopping in the right places.kiniki wrote:

Try www.videogameplus.ca
You can pick up the likes of Paper Mario 2 on the CUBE for around £14!
