Re: Introduce yourself
Covers aren't always bad, some can be as good or better in some cases.
With Depeche mode I don't mind some of their songs, stuff like Enjoy the Silence but then when you have something like I just can't get enough, I want to stab my ears.

Re: Introduce yourself
Hi there,
I'm Rob, I'm from the Midlands, UK and have been gaming since the late 80's C64 & Sega Master System and started collecting around 2000, sold my collection twice as life got in the way but third time lucky! Currently just over 1000 games collected.
This year I'm changing the way I collect, it's quality over quantity. Also just play some of the games I've got!
Really looking forward to get involved with the community!
Thanks for reading!

Hi everyone.
I'm Ryan. I live in Australia and as you can probably tell by my username the PS2 is my favourite retro console.
See you guys around.

My favourite system too

Retro is a state of mind, and cares not for your puny concepts like dates and calendars.

Re: Introduce yourself
Yes I was active for many years on RetroCollect but the website has now closed with no signs of it coming back.
Re: Introduce yourself
This 8-bit cover I love came to mind today, so as this is a retro gaming forum I thought I should share it!Crusty Starfish wrote: ↑Sat Jan 30, 2021 12:37 pmOh noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooTheAlex wrote: ↑Fri Jan 29, 2021 12:11 pmA lot of my favourite cover songs are of Depeche Mode songs - they seem an inspirational band to cover. I also like a lot of their late 80s material. I'll check out Playing the Angel.RetroGamer92 wrote: ↑Thu Jan 28, 2021 12:45 pmhi i am RetroGamer

I despise cover versions of good songs! Hate it when a Depeche Mode song is destroyed by another band or solo idiot that can't produce their own songs (or sing)!

Re: Introduce yourself
That's a good example of why people don't like covers.

Re: Introduce yourself
Wow, that's crazy. Last time I used it, the forum was really quiet but I didn't expect the site to have died completely. It's a shame really as the original concept (i.e. the database) was a bloody good one, and there were some great people there. I guess it only takes some of the big guns to change their minds when it comes to collecting games and having a passion to keep the project going.Cook_YouVillain wrote: ↑Tue Feb 02, 2021 7:08 pmYes I was active for many years on RetroCollect but the website has now closed with no signs of it coming back.

Re: Introduce yourself
RetroCollect is supposed to be having some kind of redesign - I hope it comes back, it was an excellent site.
