Haunting of bly manor on Netflix
Completely hokey and overblown in places but some really good spooky moments. Enjoyed it.

Zombieland: Double Tap. I can't remember much detail about what happened in the original, but I enjoyed this one. Don't think it would work so well as a stand alone movie, but at least knowing the characters and general premise of the original makes it worth a view.
The Dead Don't Die. A deadpan comedy that is largely missing the comedy, with a plot and pace that only reinforce how few the laughs are.

Ready Player One.
Very disappointing since I'd heard good things about it from people. Visually impressive but no charismatic leads or humour left me not caring. The pop culture references became tiresome and felt like the film was trying too hard to pander to me and make up for its clichés and lack of likeable characters. A waste of Spielberg's talents.

Seaquest DSV -
I remember very little about the series, apart from when they didn't put series 2 on UK TV and went right to 3

But hey, those video game refences, because effects and refences make the move [/sarcasm]pratty wrote: ↑Sun Oct 18, 2020 3:13 amReady Player One.

BUT THEY MADE THE GRAPHICS ON AN AMIGA WITH VIDEO TOASTER.
You should instantly love it, just like everyone loves Babylon 5

It looks like arse by todays standards but they were my Childhood, TV was pretty much left on SyFy all evening and they were rerunning them frequently along with Farscape.

Oh get you with your fancy sky channels................
Seaquest is a bit naff and its supposed to get worse?
Also been rewatching Space Dandy.
Quality anime
Im tempted to try to watch Lexx as its another series I have vague memory's of, most of that was seemingly softcore porn.
Well is was on Channel five in the late nineties

Fancy, that was the poverty end of Cabletel, didn't see Sky until a lot later and even then didn't have a heck of a lot of channels.
With Seaquest I liked it more with Roy Schnider (no doubt spelt that wrong) than Micheal Ironside, but it was cheap and cheerful and spending alot of time in the Ocean as a kid I liked the whole Sea exploring aspect.
Not a mega Anime fan, pretty much just been the Intial D series I followed properly and the Netflix Castlevania, I've some of the usual suggestions like Akira etc but just can't get into it.
If I'm well enough to work on my ebay stuff tonight I'll have a browse of Netflix or Amazon, got a backlog of vintage Horror DVD's I wanted to get through this month too.

Re: What Films/TV Have you Watched Recently?
Its hard to generalise anime as one genres
Its like just saying ive seen all sports when they have only watched football
Seaquest might just be a background series for when im grinding on an RPG or making something
Re: What Films/TV Have you Watched Recently?
I did try different types Prin, not just one, but like I said, the more fantastical stuff I couldn't get into and the only one that really stuck was Initial D probably due to it being related to the car scene.
Been working my way through the recordings of Masters of Photography as back before Covid the Pain Therapist had suggested trying photography again as I'd sort of given up as a fully manual camera needs 2 hands which is a royal sod when you need one for a walking stick.
Also working on Lucifer too with Top Gear, it still seems they want to copy old TG, especially with the last ones rental shenannigans and I'd rather they stop and try something else as it doesn't feel like it works, possibly even due to presenter choice (I'm not against it being different people but I wish they'd picked more car orientated people).

Re: What Films/TV Have you Watched Recently?
Finished NJPW G1 Climax
It was bloody fantastic, bit weird as the audience weren't allowed to yell, just stomp and clap, they also had to space them out,
Also they had to wipe down the ring after some matches
Might as well just watch a documentary

They have done realistic stuff in the past, but it always ended up a bit naff, who watches TV for realism?
Might as well just watch a documentary
Re: What Films/TV Have you Watched Recently?
Tbh thats what I acctually prefer to watch or where something is made or repaired, mind you some of those are fairly full of fiction to make it more dramatic.
Most Fiction I watch is generally Horror, some Horror anime isn't bad at all I must admit and theres one anime I cannot remember the name of acctually sat in my watch list mostly due to it popping up on a Lazerhawk video, not horror but involved a car chase so probably falls under action.

I pretty much exhausted all the documentary's I want to watch during lockdown.
Stuff about buildings and mega structures, background stuff while I played/did things

Re: What Films/TV Have you Watched Recently?
Being housebound for 2 years as of next week I'd thought I'd watched most of what I wanted to watch but I do occasionally find something, not a lot though despite now acctually really having the all singing all dancing TV package at my disposal as well as bothe Prime and Netflix.
Tonight I have so far watched Hubie Halloween, it did make me laugh but it is literally the same damn character as most of his other films and I'm now working my way through the Addams Family movies.
