Are others getting frequent site time outs?

Post by Sega2006 » Mon Mar 09, 2020 3:01 pm

Last couple of days I've been getting connection timeouts when I try to access the forum, I know my internet access is otherwise fine so I wanted to know if others are getting the same?

Yes! Keeps doing it. It's like going back to dial up trying to connect to RG forum. Very Retro indeed!!

I've had it out most of today, I even tested my phone via 4g (I normally always use laptop as it's a sod to see stuff on phones) and same result.
Maybe it's time to poke whoever runs the site's host with a stick and see whats making it iffy.

Been down a lot lately, though I've only noticed it on my phone. The main site loads every time - it's just the forum.
Retro is a state of mind, and cares not for your puny concepts like dates and calendars.

It's probable it's on a different host, that's why its unaffected.

Well, at least you know getting a decent computer & browser won't make any difference now ;)

This is getting really silly! I tried on and off all day and couldn't get on here. What is it? A Retro server or something?

It was unavailable the one time I tried yesterday afternoon, but otherwise I've been able to access it fine.

I tried to make a wise crack yesterday evening about the server being someones old 486 or Amiga but it crashed and wouldn't let me in until now so now I'm thinking Commodore Pet or a Pocket Calculator someone robbed from their old math class, on the brightside its making my brain tick a bit rather that the usual grade of staring at the wall or out staring the Dog.
