It's the full NES SMB on the C=64, pretty neat stuff.
There's some slowdown there but the game makes use of SuperCPU which reduces it.

Boy did Nintendo squash this quick (4 days I believe). 7 years development Thanos snapped just like that

The developer did the right thing, in not making a big note about it during it's development. That way, he got to develop it in full with no issues, then release it where it's too late for Nintendo to stop it. AM2R did the same thing to great success.

Nintendo has done nothing afaik, there's no proof any of it wasn't other people reporting links.
