Being a sucker for early to mid 90s FMV games, I've bought The 7th Guest 25th Anniversary Edition on GOG.

Done a video review, too:

Love that game, its one of my all time favourites.

Recently played Phantasmagoria though. Absolutely cracking game. 2nd one wasnt as good though.

I got that back in the late 90s... could do with being remastered.

No sorry, I meant The 7th Guest. But yeah I totally agree Phantasmagoria needs some kinda remaster. I'd definitely buy that.

Nice 😀

I never play my standard PS4 any more. Really struggle to get in to new games these days. Nothing seems to hold my interest long enough.

Urban Reign a Namco 3D scrolling fighter in the same vein as Spikeout.

Been after this game for absolutely ages only to be disappointed.

Im glad I updated mine, not sure if its because I'm looking for it but does seem better with the PSVR. Forgot to backup all my saves though so everything is gone and have to start again

It is a weird game. I went in thinking that it would be a scrolling fighter but it really isn't. You need to master the counters and dodges otherwise you quickly get destroyed. Some of the last fights (there are 100 missions) took me absolutely forever to beat for example because there is zero space for error and you have to find a "flow" where you get in the zone.

I really enjoyed it for the challenge alone (I was determined to beat it!) but I don't think I would go through it again.
Retro is a state of mind, and cares not for your puny concepts like dates and calendars.

I thought it was a scrolling fighter but its basically Powerstone with Tekken fight system. I liked how you can attack multiple people at once, or you can double team enemies with power moves.

Urban Reigns has gone in the charity bag, not a game I will be returning to.

It arrived this morning, so I've gone into work and left it to transfer all my data... it estimated 106 minutes... started transferring and changed that estimate to 5 hours...

Against my better judgement, I ended up getting a Sony Playstation Classic/Mini the other day, and have been fiddling around with it. I guess its already fairly well documented that the emulation is pretty sub-par, and further let down by a poor selection of games and in almost half the cases the inferior PAL ports.

Things somewhat improve when you stick in a USB memory stick and software like autobleem, these mods allow you to add extra games on using either the built in PS emulator, or Retroarch....but even then, Playstation 1 emulation is far from ideal. I like the two Playstation pads though they bundled in the package....although pity they aren't dual shock controllers, as analogue control did get reasonable support for the 2nd half of the Playstation 1s life.

To summarise, the SNES-classic is SO much better for its core purpose, and seems like Nintendo put much more thought into it. PS Classic seems very rushed by comparison. Ultimately though, both won't get much use, but its nice to have the USB controllers for both systems that can be used elsewhere (on superior hardware).
