You should write a book about all your time there, I reckon people would buy that, I know I would. A lot of work though I guess?

Yes. I've been writing it for the last 2 years. Over 150,000 words so far though it's not from the 1st chapter. It starts right at the beginning & illustrates how what did in our spare time as children changed when we got our 1st computers. The bulk of it covers 1984 to the early 90s and also covers going to school, playground piracy, milestones in Spectrum games as and when they came out, working in computer games shops in the 80s and taking walks there and seeing all those old classics sitting on the shelves for the 1st time.
The most interesting section that covers my time at Ocean is the most detailed account I could possibly tell. I wanted to get it all out of my head before it all disappeared for good.

The people complaining on the forums about things are a tiny fraction of the overall base though, its just that they are the most vocal about it. If you look at stuff like Facebook theres way more enthusiasm than complainingTheAlex wrote: ↑Mon Mar 18, 2019 10:33 amI'm surprised the subscriber covers are still going given how much the negative feedback outweighs the positive on this forum. I much prefer (and love) the newsstand cover again this month: https://twitter.com/RetroGamer_Mag/stat ... 9604739072 (though the first replier to that Tweet prefers the subscriber version).

Great issue as ever but...
'Star Trek Bridge Commander allowed budding Jedi masters to control iconic craft like the Millennium Falcon' under a pic of the USS Enterprise!

Re: Retro Gamer - Issue 192
Yeah, that one was a joke. I kind of wanted to see if people would pick up on it.
The Super Star Wars screenshot in the news section was supposed to have a Trek-related caption, but it didn't get used so the joke wasn't quite as obvious as I'd have liked.

Re: Retro Gamer - Issue 192
first issue in a long while, since that cover is great and of course the cd ..... dissapoint that my gargantuin list of fav ocean games never got at LEAST a half page
been reading all my old issues too, so now i have new words to peruse in my "spare time"

Re: Retro Gamer - Issue 192
When I saw issue 192 in the shop I was very happy, because it reminded me of the days magazines used to give tapes/disks with every issue (sadly not 3'' disks for cpc users
). Every time I read the issue I play the CD too. Great this music. Please repeat this giveaway again.
