Re: Retro Gamer - Issue 192
I hate the subscriber cover. They've been terrible for months and months now. They look a complete afterthought like yeah just throw any old crap on there.
I'd rather have the paid cover.

Also a great Rob Hubbard article (and a FREE CD) to go with it. Listening to that in my car

The Gods one last month was one of the alltime best covers in my opinion - I've been collecting since around issue 30.greenberet79 wrote: ↑Sat Mar 16, 2019 10:08 amI hate the subscriber cover. I loved the Mark Jones article about his first few weeks at Ocean. More like this please!
Re: Retro Gamer - Issue 192
I'm surprised the subscriber covers are still going given how much the negative feedback outweighs the positive on this forum. I much prefer (and love) the newsstand cover again this month: https://twitter.com/RetroGamer_Mag/stat ... 9604739072 (though the first replier to that Tweet prefers the subscriber version).
Re: Retro Gamer - Issue 192
It's a bit subjective and some people might like some and not others. Sample size is too small to draw a conclusion.

I buy the magazine for the content, the cover for me isn't that important. People seem to put far too much weight on it when in reality I can't imagine they actually spend that much time looking at it.
Re: Retro Gamer - Issue 192
I’ve always wondered why the “R” of “Gamer” on the front cover has a wobble on the r’s leg - doesn’t seem to match the font. The subscribers cover and gifts are not needed in my opinion as I am interested in the content, perhaps there is a sales boost when gifts are added?
Re: Retro Gamer - Issue 192
You don't know how 'sad' I am.

Anyway, I'm not a subscriber as of the last issue, so I'll be picking up my favoured version of the cover this time.

Re: Retro Gamer - Issue 192
All very good points. I think maybe there should at least be an option for Subscribers about whether they get one or the other. But it can’t be on a month by month basis as that’d be too much management.
Re: Retro Gamer - Issue 192
The Ocean and Tenchu features appeal to me, looks like a great mix in this issue
